Customer Identification Program
Federal Regulations enacted pursuant to Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act require all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who seeks to open an account (any banking relationship including, but not limited to, deposit accounts, loans, trusts, and safe deposit boxes) or become a signatory on an account. All persons are subject to the identity verification requirements, even though they may be a long-time customer and well known to the institution.
What this means to you: When you request an account with SJN Bank of Kansas, with the new regulatory requirements, we will request your name, address, date of birth, and documents such as your driver's license or other identifying information. Similar identification requirements apply to business entities such as corporations and partnerships.
